Dr. Akira Kobayashi is a board certified family medicine physician. In addition to being the founder of Yakima Men’s Clinic, he works as an emergency physician at Astria Toppenish Hospital and consulting physician for the Yakama Nation. He also serves as a part-time clinical faculty member at the University of Washington and a physician at Community Health of Central Washington.

After graduating Alpha Omega Alpha (awarded to the top 10% of each medical school class) from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 2015, Dr. Kobayashi completed his residency at Swedish First Hill in Seattle and served as clinic chief in his last year.

Dr. Kobayashi is experienced in the full spectrum of family medicine, from chronic disease management to emergency care. He has worked in ERs, in the hospital for hospitalized adults and children, in the obstetrical ward delivering babies, and in the clinic doing primary care. When he isn’t helping patients, he’s raising his two kids and two foster kids, or finding time for rock climbing, running, strength training, mountaineering, backcountry skiing, hunting, and cooking. Akira’s wife Emily is a general surgeon. They are members of Memorial Bible Church in Gleed.
